Highlights:
Walk Score of 95 makes this a “Walker’s Paradise”!
As a young family of 3 in 2016, 683 Spruce Street became the center
of our activities. Within a short walk we were hiking in the Presidio
shopping at the Clement Street farmers market, or playing at the Clay
Street playground. As our kids got older, we could safely bike ride to
Golden Gate Park via Euclid & Arguello, and enjoy the car-free
journey to Ocean Beach or the museums. The flat neighborhood
made it easy to go for a walk as a family, especially with a stroller!
With young kids, time was our most precious asset. The many
amenities nearby: Target, Trader Joe's, Laurel Hill Nursery School, the
JCC, and the Marin Country Day School bus stop, meant we were
never more than a 5 minute walk or drive from the essentials. As our
kids got into sports - soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis - the best
fields and courts in the city were also nearby, which meant we didn't
have to deal with cross-town traffic to get to practice after school!
Finally, the layout of the home really emphasized family time. From
the kitchen we could see our kids playing in the living or eating at the
dining table. The open floor plan meant we could be together while not
being on top of each other. We made a significant investment in the
backyard - brought in 6 dump trucks of fill to level it off, added seating
around the perimeter, plantings, lighting, and artificial turf - so that on
beautiful days, our kids could safely play without risk of escaping to
the street. We grew lemons, limes, and strawberries in the backyard,
and our daughter would make crowns with Jasmine flower petals
growing by the deck.
As our family grew from 3 to 5 members, we (reluctantly) just moved
into a bigger home in the suburbs. Our best memories are in this
home and we hope the next owners will love it as much as we have!

Only steps away from the open expanses of the Presidio lies the Laurel Heights/ Jordan Park neighborhood. Impressive hundred-year-old Victorians and Edwardians mix lyrically with bright stucco bungalows, sizable apartment structures, and updated modern residences.
Jordan Park/Laurel Heights has become home to many upscale families with young children. Private schools dot the area, including One Fifty Parker and Laurel Hill Nursery School. Some of the finest public school education is also available at the Claire Lilienthal Public Elementary School on Sacramento Street. The school boasts a California API over 900.
Lined with elegant shops, Sacramento Street is a shopper’s paradise. One quaint storefront after another serves the desires of the stylish passersby including Betty Lin and Mabel Chong. Grab your more regular household needs at the nearby Laurel Village Shopping Center, complete with Bryan's and Cal Mart grocery stores, Ace Hardware, or grab a treat at Susie Cake's or lunch at Super Duper Burgers.
Don’t miss the popular restaurants, cafes, and specialty bakeries in or near Laurel Heights. A short walk to Arsicault will reward you with delectable pastries. The Clement Street Farmer's Market is a Sunday staple for stocking up on fresh veggies for the week. Those fortunate enough will stumble happily upon Magic Flute Garden Ristorante, Garibaldi's, or enjoy the fine dining at Spruce.
Combining purposes as an athletic center and as a local presenter of cultural arts, the Jewish Community Center welcomes all, and is a community hub for the area. Close by, and convenient, is the California Pacific Medical Center on California Street. Overall, a great neighborhood, with excellent transportation options for easy coming and going.
